AZOT-SUBOKSID I NJEGOV UTICAJ NA LJUDSKI ORGANIZAM
AUTOR: FILIP KRAJINIĆ ,VIII 4 , OSNOVNA SKOLA “BORA STANKOVIĆ” BEOGRAD

REZIME
U reakijama sa kiseonikom N2O prelazi u NO (azot monoksid) i ovaj NO
ozonskog omotača i stvaranja efekta staklene bašte.

SUMMARY
This report describes characteristics of nitrogen, it's place in the Periodic System of the Elements,
characteristics of nitrous oxide, its synthesis, production process, effect on human body and its
application, as well as indirect impact on human society and planet.
Nitrogen is chemical element that belongs to 5th group of elements in periodic table, which is known as
Nitrogen group. Nitrogen is colorless gas without taste or smell. It's not flammable and does not support
burning. It is not poisonous and it's lighter than air.
Nitrous oxide is gas commonly known as laugh gas or sweet gas. Its chemical formula is N2O. Nitrous
oxide is oxide of nitrogen, very stable on room temperature. It's colorless gas, with slightly sweet taste
and smell and it is 1.5 times heavier than air. Nitrous oxide becomes strong oxidant at the higher
temperatures similar to oxygen molecule. At high temperatures nitrous oxide degrades in the nitrogen
and oxygen. In chemical reaction with oxygen nitrous oxide transforms in NO (nitric oxide) with the
significant release of heat energy. This released heat energy causes damage to the ozone layer and the
greenhouse effect.
KEY WORDS
Overview of characteristics of nitrogen and its position in Periodic System charactersitics of nitrous
oxide, generation, prduction process; its application in medicine and effect on human body, and in-direct
effect on planet and human society.
