Mnoge lekovite biljke položile su težak test vremena, a
znanja o njima predano su prenošena kroz epohe.
               lekovitog i samoniklog bilja.

njenog bogatstva.

                                                             ABSTRACT

Plants are both food and medicine. Nature has taken care of creating a plant for every desease so it has in its
treasury a multitude of plants which have beneficial influence to an organism. The healing properties of some plants have
been known to people from times immemorial. The history of classical herbal medicine is a few thousand years long.
Numerous medicinal herbs have passed a heavy test of time, and knowledge about them has been devotedly kept
through ages. The Serbs have a very developed people’s pharmacy – plant healing, and our grandmothers carry over from
one generation to another the recipes for making various teas, juices, jams, saps from herbs and self-growing plants.

By this expert work are comprised the most significant by experience and scientifically proved data about herbs
and self-growing plants and their capacity to successfully prevent numerous illnesses, with special accent to the
vegetation which is most frequently found in the clean, untouched nature at the territory of the sub-Avala settlement
               Resnik.

In that aspect was determined the availability of various herbal teas and medicines at our local chemist’s.

This work highlights the need to develop ecological culture of the modern man and particularly of the young in
preservance of nature and its wealth. In that respect, the aim of the work is to point out the importance of educating
young people in regard of the healing properties of the plants growing everywhere around us and the possibilities of their
everyday usage for achieving a quality life, desease prevention and health protection.
