ARCHITECTURE IN THE AGE OF RENAISSANCE

SUMMERY:

Through this work I described the development of architecture in some countries of Europe, such as
Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Flanders, Netherlands, Germany, Hungary and Austria. For describing the
development of architecture I have chosen the time of Renaissance, because the architecture and many
other arts were developed in that period. Renaissance is the cultural movement which appears in Italy in

14 century in cities: Florence, Venice, Genoa, Milan, Rome,… That period spreads also in other parts of
th
th
Europe during 15 and 16 century. Renaissance is a term which means rebirth and art restoration. I
wrote about the styles that originate during this time and about famous constructions like museum
Louvre in France, palace Strozzi in Florence, Kremlin in Moscow and the Saint Peter’s church in Rome.
Also, I wrote about famous and significant architects like Donato Bramante, Michelangelo Buonaroti
(1475-1564) and Filippo Brunelleschi. During the Renaissance it looked like that the old culture is
renewed, and also, the word Renaissance in translation means rebirth or renew. Main values were joy of
life and curiosity, and ideal of beauty was human body and nature. Speaking of architecture, she is art
which deals with founding space that is in harmony with human needs. Person who engaged external
and internal structure is called an architect.

ABSTRAKT

Kroz ovaj rad , opisao sam razvoj arhitekture u pojedinim zemljama Evrope, kao što su Italija, Francuska,
Španija, Portugalija, Flandrija, Holandija, Nemačka, Mađarska i Austrija. Za opisivanje razvoja arhitekture
izabrao sam doba Renesanse, zbog toga što su se arhitektura i mnoge druge umetnosti najviše razvile u
tom periodu. Renesansa je kulturni pokret koji se javlja u Italiji u XIV veku u gradovima: Firenca, Venecija,
Đenova, Milano, Rim, ... To doba se širi i u Evropi tokom XV i XVI veka. Renesansa je pojam koji označava
kulturni preporod i umetničku obnovu. Pisao sam o stilovima koji nastaju tokom ovog doba, a i o
poznatim građevinama kao što su muzej Luvr u Parizu, palata Stroci u Firenci, Kremalj u Moskvi i crkva
Svete Petre u Rimu. Takođe, pisao sam i o poznatim i značajnim arhitektama kao što su Donato
Bramante, Michelangelo Buonaroti i Filippo Brunelleschi. Tokom Renesanse izgledalo je kao da se
obnavlja ta stara kultura, a reč Renesansa znači obnova ili preporod. Glavne vrednosti postale su životna
radost i radoznalost, a ideali lepote su bili ljudsko telo i priroda. Kada smo ved kod arhitekture, ona je
umetnost koja se bavi nalaženjem prostora koji je u skladu sa ljudskim potrebama. Čovek koji se bavi
spoljašnjim i unutrašnjim uređenje se naziva arhitekta.
