ABSTRACT

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is a state in the Western Europe. With a
population of about sixty million people, it is the fourth most populous state in Europe. Britain has come a
th
long way to become what it is now. From invasions of different nations to world wars in the 20 century,
its history was marked with many instabilities, conflicts and wars. On the other side, English culture,
language and politics have been constantly developing. Helped out by colonisation, English culture has
spread all over the world and there is not a place on Earth where You can`t notice some influence from
England.

In this paper, I am going to look back at England`s incredible history and people who contributed to its
development. There are many people who made possible for England to become so important. The rulers
of England are among those people, as well as many scientists, inventors, artists and writers, who wrote in
a language which is now widely spread and used all over the world.

According to the sources from Internet, there are nine parts in the history of England. All those chapters of
England`s history were important in some way. The most important thing from the history of England is
that it wasn`t always successful, but we can learn a lot from England‟s accomplishments and defeats.

REZIME

Ujedinjeno Kraljevstvo Velike Britanije i Severne Irske je država u Zapadnoj Evropi. Sa populacijom od
oko šezdeset miliona stanovnika, ona je ĉetvrta najnaseljenija država u Evropi.

Britanija je prešla dug put da postone ono što je sada. Od invazija razliĉitih naroda, pa sve do svetskih
ratova u 20. veku, njena istorija je obeležena mnogim nemirima, sukobima i ratovima. Sa druge strane,
engleska kultura, jezik i politika su se neprekidno razvijali. Potpomognuta kolonizacijom, engleska
kultura se raširila po celom svetu i ne postoji mesto na Zemlji gde se ne može primetiti engleski uticaj.

U ovom radu, osvrnuću se na neverovatnu istoriju Engleske i ljude koji su doprineli njenom napretku. Ima
mnogo ljudi koji su uĉinili da Engleska postane toliko bitna. MeĊu tim ljudima su vladari Engleske, kao i
mnogi nauĉnici, pronalazaĉi, umetnici i pisci koji su pisali na jeziku koji je sada široko rasprostranjen i
korišćen svuda u svetu.

Prema izvorima na Intenetu, istorija Engleske je podeljena na devet delova. Sva poglavlja engleske istorije
su bila bitna na neki naĉin. Najvažnije u toj istoriji je da Engleska nije uvek bila uspešna, ali možemo
mnogo da nauĉimo iz njenih dostignuća i neuspeha.
