SAJBERPANK – VIZIJA NAŠE BUDUĆNOSTI

Cyberpunk first came to be known as a sub-genre of science fiction. Today, it is a culture on its own that
features a combination of advanced science, technology of the future and a radical change in the social
order. To sum up, the future in cyberpunk is dark and dismal – the global industrialization and
urbanization polluted the whole world, thus destroying most of the planet’s eco-systems. Multi-national
mega corporations have all the political, economic and military power on Earth, but they do not care
about anything except profit. In addition, the society is full of injustice and criminals where ,”every-man-
for-himself“ principle is above law and morality. In this paper I am going to write about cyberpunk, the
impact it caused on science fiction as a genre and its role in art and media. The purpose of this paper is
to introduce cyberpunk to a wider audiences due to the fact that it is a very young culture still in a state
of development.The question that will follow us through the entire paper is –will our future be
cyberpunk?

APSTRAKT

Sajberpank je prvo bio poznat kao pod-žanr naučne fantastike. To je samostalna kultura danas, koju
karakteriše kombinacija napredne nauke i tehnologije bududnosti sa radikalnom promenom u
društvenom poretku. Ukratko, bududnost sajberpanka je mračna i depresivna – svetska industrijalizacija i
urbanizacija su zagadile celu planetu, tako uništavajudi vedi deo svetskih ekosistema. Multi-nacionalne
mega korporacije imaju svu političku, ekonomsku i vojnu mod, ali ih zanima samo profit. Kao dodatak,
društvo je puno kriminala i nepravde gde je načelo „svako-zasebe“ iznad zakona i morala. U ovom radu,
ja du da pišem o sajberpanku, njegovom uticaju na naučnu fantastiku kao žanr i njegovoj ulozi u
umetnosti i medijima. Cilj ovog rada je da upozna širu publiku sa sajberpankom, koja je veoma mlada
kultura još u stanju razvijanja.. Pitanje koje de nas pratiti kroz ceo rad je – da li je naša bududnost
sajberpank?
